I was born and raised in Michigan, USA. I studied painting and printmaking in California, and currently live and work in Oxford, UK.
I am motivated by a love of the paint itself: I love the expressiveness of brushstrokes, colours, and composition; and delight in the challenge of using these elements to translate what is dynamic and compelling about my subject. I’m constantly torn between being attentive to detail and open to surprises.
