Portraits

I grew up in Western Michigan, and no matter where I live, my palette is still inspired by the muted grays, yellows and blues of a mid-western winter. I'm am an observer of the Annie Dillard variety: I see abstract paintings in mottled concrete, metaphors in creeping nasturtium, perfect balance where cloudy sky meets bare oak and golden reed grass in a highway ditch.
